Eligible people are also now able to book an appointment for a booster dose. Booster doses must be at least six months after a second dose. Appointments can be booked by calling 119 or visiting www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination.

People eligible for a booster dose include those living in care homes, all adults over 40, health and social care workers, and clinically vulnerable people aged 16-40.

Latest Booster Information for 18-39 year olds (updated 3 December)

Following updated guidance from the JCVI on boosters for 18-39s, the NHS will be expanding the booster programme – booster jabs will be given in priority order so that the most vulnerable people are protected first, while also increasing capacity to vaccinate millions more people in a shorter space of time.

The NHS will contact you when you are due to book in for your lifesaving booster vaccination, and when you get the call, it’s vital that people come forward as quickly as possible.

Any pupils who were not in school because of COVID-19, or any other reason, will be given the opportunity to been vaccinated in due course. Young people who are educated at home will also be offered vaccination and further information about this will be available soon. This website will be updated regularly, so please check back for more information.

For all over 18s, second doses are now given routinely at 8 weeks. 12-15 year olds are currently being offered a first dose only of the Pfizer vaccine. People aged 16 and 17 will soon be able to book their second vaccine dose. They will be able to have their second dose from 12 weeks after their first.

These appointments will also be open to any children who have turned 12 since vaccinations were offered at their school, or those who previously returned a declined a vaccination, and would now like to have one.
