Accessible Information Standard

The Accessible Information Standard is a new ‘information standard’ for implementation by all organisations that provide NHS or adult social care.

The Accessible Information Standard aims to ensure that people who have a disability or sensory loss receive information that they can access and understand, for example in large print, braille or via email, and professional communication support if they need it, for example from a British Sign Language interpreter. You can find more information about the NHS Accessible Information Standard on NHS England’s website.

We want to get better at communicating with our patients.

We want to make sure that you can read and understand the information we send you.

If you find it hard to read our letters or if you need someone to support you at appointments, please let us know.

We want to know if you need information in braille, large print or easy read

We want to know if you need a British Sign Language interpreter or advocate

We want to know if we can support you to lip-read or use hearing aid or communication tool.

Please tell the receptionist if you need communication support, or information in a different format.
