The Surgery’s Patient Participation Group (PPG) gathered on Tuesday 8th July 2025 , discussing various agenda items on how to develop the services we provide:
- Recent patient feedback was discussed, included the dissatisfaction some patients felt towards the number of appointments the Surgery offer. The PPG were informed that from January 2025- date, the Surgery have offered 43,000 appointments but we are still looking at increasing this figure even more!
- The Surgery’s proposed plans to increase its clinical capacity was discussed, with input provided from the PPG on how to mould these proposals to maximise its benefits to patients.
- The methods of how to book appointments was discussed, with difficulty in trying to beat the 8:30 rush still being experienced. The Surgery has now introduced an online triage form, available on our website, where a trained member of the team will review the query and arrange a suitable appointment. Whilst this is not suitable for urgent queries, we hope that this additional communication method will relieve some of the telephone pressure both patients and the Surgery experience.
Our next meeting will be held later this year- if you would wish to attend to help offer input on ways to improve the Surgery, please email us at info.westheathsurgery_sbpct@nhs.net. Once a date has been established, we will invite all patients who have expressed an interest in supporting the Surgery.
