A variety of media outlets have recently reported on the wide-scale distribution of the Mounjaro weight loss management medication throughout England.
Each area of the Country has or is currently establishing specific criteria in order for this medication to be prescribed within the NHS.
Unfortunately, we cannot currently prescribe this medication in Birmingham with plans being finalised for patient access within this area.
Whilst West Heath Surgery and West Heath Primary Care centre cannot currently prescribe Mounjaro, this medication is available through private providers for a chargeable fee. If our patients do choose to visit this option, please be aware beforehand that our Surgeries cannot take over the prescribing of this medication following the initiation of a private provider. This is due to the limitations being experienced within our local area and our Surgeries attempts to comply with localised regulations.
